Myth or Medical Miracle: Will exercise reverse skin aging? What was once speculation -- that exercise helps keep skin glowing and youthful -- now has scientific research behind it. Not only did scientists find that those who exercise regularly have younger-looking skin, but they found that the aging process can begin to be reversed for older people who take up regular exercise. Scientists found 65+ year old volunteers and asked them to either live a sedentary lifestyle or engage in moderate cardio twice a week. The result? Those who exercised had skin (both the inner and outer layers of the dermis) that closely resembled the skin of 20-40 year olds. It appears that more exercise = more protein in the skin = a younger appearance!
