As pastor Sthembiso Zondo arrived at his church in Durban, fully clothed in an immaculate three-piece black suit, congregants, mostly women, surged forward. They took pictures, waved and ululated, pushing to get a closer look at their beloved pastor. The pastor found himself surrounded by a sea of smiling faces. Everyone was obviously excited to be near him. Congregants of the Soul Renaissance Church next to the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the Ukhozi FM team and supporters of Zondo came in numbers to show their support yesterday. The church was packed to capacity. Some people brought camp chairs while others remained standing throughout the service. Zondo didn’t seem uncomfortable at the thought that his penis, described on Facebook as an anaconda, was the subject of a front page story in Daily Sun on Wednesday. “I want to apologise to Ukhozi FM, a number of pastors and people who love me. I apologise for the pain I caused when my naked video went viral,” said the pastor from the pulpit, looking confident. He said the woman who shot the video was sent to humiliate him but he has forgiven her. “I forgive everyone who was behind the video,” he said. He said it was hard being threatened that the video would be released to the public. “What happened to me should serve as a lesson to other men,” he said. He said the woman who made the video does not represent South African women. “That woman represents the devil,” he said. Ukhozi FM personalities who attended the service to support the pastor included Sbu Sithole, Irvin Sihlophe, Nompumelelo Mangethe and DJ Sgqemeza. “Don’t worry if people criticise you.
