NAMA 9-Jackson Sama and his Liberian wife 9 Just coming from North America Madingo Association (HORO-YAH) fundraising dance for Ebola at 300 West Street in Dedham, MA. DJ for the night was our very own DJ Umar Djforty P Savage, who did a very marvelous job, as always. NAMA is North American Madingo Association that was founded 20 years ago by Madingo descendants living in North America, as far as Canada and beyond. Its a Madingo and not a religious organization but anyone is welcome to join and it consists of many non- Madingos. Its members include Liberians, Sierra Leoneans, and Guineans mainly, and a few other nationalities living in North America. There are other branches of NAMA in Washington DC., New York and Pennsylvania. Some of their members include Alhaji Ibrahim S. Nabay, Balu Hassan, Foday Koroma, Lamin Conteh, Salamatu Thomas- Bangura, Abdulai Kakay, Kemoh Kamara, to name just a few. It was a great, interesting and long event and it was an opportunity to see many old friends and brothers from across the state and from as far as Canada. At the event, the President of NAMA Mr. Vambah K. Sillah talked of the essence of the fundraising and how previous funds were raised in the past year for the same Ebola epidemic ravaging our countries and was sent to the 3 affected countries and why it is important to be a member of NAMA and how hes wishing to see more members join and also mentioned NAMA not being just a Madingo organization and how everyone is welcome to join. MC of the night Sheku Kamara, who introduced all the executive members of NAMA and many other NAMA members including VP Jalahan Sesay- Barrie and the longest serving Treasurer Umaru Bayoh and commend them for their tremendous jobs and the great contribution they have done to build up the organization up to this point. Also introduced was retired Colonel Lansana Turay, another prominent member of the organization. Some of the NAMA members in attendance were Vambah K. Sillah (president), Jalahan Sesay- Barrie (VP), Lansana Turay, Umaru Bayoh (Treasurer), Fatmata Dyfan (Social Security), Agnes Atta Williams, Seray Turay, Sheku Kamara, Lansana Sidibay, Martha Massaquoi, Lucy Mboyawa, Ntourma Kabba, Naffie Sulaiman, Rose Carpenter, Hawa Sheriff- Savage, Fatmata Koroma, Amy Massaquoi, Alhaji Ibrahim Savage, Lansana Kenneh, Zan Musa Jabbie from Canada, and also myself plus many other people in attendance, unfortunately I cannot remember all names. Today, October 12th, we will also attend fundraising for Fullah Progressive Organization in Boston Incorporation, who are cordially inviting everyone to attend. It will be at Harbor Point Hall on 270 Mount Vernon St in Dorchester MA, 02125. Tickets will be $20. Motto: Pottal Et Fottal, which means Togetherness.
