NAMFUMU is a local term snatched from the Bemba tribe of the northern part of Zambia which means “Female Ruler” or “Queen”. The word conjures thoughts of royalty, power, wealth of mind and respect but also invokes overwhelming admiration and love. The NAMFUMU (TV Show & Event) is our search to discover an individual that embodies these attributes. It’s a search for a woman passionate about her country and its less privileged. An intelligent, ambitious and driven woman who is warm and beautiful both in seeing, in spirit and being. A proud African woman worthy to be called NAMFUMU, “The Queen”. It is Sling Beats’ pleasure to launch the (7 pre-produced plus 1 live) TV show on February 27th April 2014 with the grand finale being recorded LIVE on the April 12th, 2014 at a prestigious fashion show in Lusaka. The competition will test the contestants endurance and aptitude through 6 grueling battles that will earn one the right to be called “NAMFUMU”.
