NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES. (Per NASCAR Integrated Marketing & Communication). It’s Talladega Time; Time To Be Wary Talladega Superspeedway is known to many race car drivers as the Wild Card race on the schedule and that will be the case this weekend for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Matt Crafton enters the race with a comfortable 41-point lead over James Buescher and 53 markers in front of Ty Dillon but the question is whether that margin will remain after the checkered flag falls Saturday afternoon on the Fred’s 250. While Crafton will leave Talladega as the points leader as long as he avoids major trouble, the Tulare, Calif. native will add another mark in his championship building resume with a victory. No points leader entering the weekend has ever won at Talladega since the series began racing there in 2006. The closest to do that was Ron Hornaday Jr. in 2008 when the four-time champion finished second. While Crafton is looking at to secure his second win of the season, one thing is certain: Every driver hopes to avoid the “Big One Direction Music during the race. The racing is expected to be close with all 36 competitors trying to stay at the front of the pack throughout the 250.4-mile, 94-lap race. Although Crafton’s streak of 16 top-10 finishes ended at Las Vegas in late September, Crafton would no doubt welcome a top-10 finish at Talladega. Buescher and Dillon’s best chance to gain ground is for Crafton to suffer mechanical issues or be involved in an on-track incident – something he and the rest of field hopes to avoid.
