NASSAU BAHAMAS BREAKING NEWS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL ALLIANCE DEPUTY LEADER CHRISTOPHER MORTIMER ANNOUNCES THE ELECTION OF THE "INTERIM CHAIRMAN" OF THE DNA BUSINESSMAN AND DRAMATIST ANDREW WILSON. MR. WILSON IS THE BROTHER OF POLITICAL VETERAN AND FORMER COLLEGE OF THE BAHAMAS LECTURER GEORGE WILSON. Mr. Andrew Wilson is one of twelve children born to the late Arnold Wilson of New Providence and Hilda Wilson (nee Edwards), of Cat Island, The Bahamas. Andrew Wilson was born in the City of Nassau on April 21, 1954. His primary education was at “Our Lady’s School”, and he later graduated from “Aquinas College. This enterprising Bahamian who began his working career at age 9 as a “Packing Boy” in Nassau and later joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force also worked at Barclays Bank for 1 year, before moving to NYC in 1974 to enroll at “The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts” in pursuit of his dream to follow in the footsteps of “Sir Sidney Poitier”. While living in NY, Andrew worked as a Street Peddler and founded “The West Indian Theatre of Harlem”, a vehicle through which he wrote, produced and directed the Off-Broadway play “The Black Sheep” which ran for over 200 performances in NY, Montreal and Washington DC. While living in NY, Andrew also established “The Gallery of New World “an Arts & Crafts Gallery that played a key role in ushering in what was subsequently referred to as “The Golden Age of Black Art.” Andrew returned to the Bahamas in 1980 and established Suncraft Limited a company that pioneered in the local manufacturing Sector. An original sponsor and Director of “Junior Achievement Bahamas”, as well as a former Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at BTVI and founder of “The Ova Da Hill Improvement Association”, Andrew has enhanced the lives of thousands of young Bahamians. A graduate of the Harvard Business School Management Program, Andrew Wilson currently heads the Quality Group of Companies (QBC) which consists of Quality Business Center Limited, Radio Shack, Quality Apparels and Quality Fence & Rails. He is married to Susan Wilson and is the proud father three daughters and one son. He is a member Holy Family Catholic Church. In 2007 he was selected by Jones Communications Network as “Businessperson of the Year” and later recognized as a legend in “Bahamian Legends Volume 2” for his achievements in Business. In his leisure time, Mr. Wilson prefers reading, mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and spending quiet time with his family.
