NATIONAL MINORITY DAY - 11 AUGUST 2013 A meeting was held by Zahid Nazir (President of Pakistan Minority Rights Defender-PMRD) on National Minority day at Bahar Colony Kot lakhpat, Lahore, Pakistan. In the meeting he said: “It is not Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam then how we can observe this day to remember his milestone speech in Karachi on August 11, 1947. Minorities (Christians) are living like slaves in Pakistan nor like equal citizens as promised by founder of Pakistan, then is meaningless issue and observance of “Minority Day” on this day is living in fool’s paradise. According to Population Census Organization.. Muslim-96.28, Christian-1.59, Hindu-1.60, Qadiani-0.22, Scheduled castes-0.25, Others-0.07, whereas according to my knowledge Christians are 3% and similarly other figures are showed less. There is a strong need to carryout census of Minority Population in Pakistan. " Pakistan Minority Rights Defender (PMRD) raises it voice for carrying out census of Minority Population, as soon as possible, in Pakistan so that equal rights could be given to minorities. beta.dawn/news/746344/state-against-minorities
