NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETWORK PERFORMING AMERICAS PROGRAM CREATIVE EXCHANGE RESIDENCY & MOBILITY GRANTS AVAILABLE! NPNs Performing Americas Program offers grants for Creative Exchange residencies, and mobility funds for performing artists and performing arts curators. PLEASE NOTE: QUICK TURN-AROUND APPLICATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 15, 2014 PROJECT DATES: OCTOBER 1, 2014 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2015 The Performing Americas Program (PAP) is a partnership between the National Performance Network and La RED (Red de Promotores Culturales de Latinoamerica y el Caribe) redlatinoamericana This partnership has created a structure for systematic exchange of contemporary performing arts touring in this hemisphere through residencies that provide opportunities for community engagement. This program is based on reciprocity and mutual respect with knowledge building through peer and artist exchange. This year, we will be awarding a limited number of grants to artists to develop projects throughout the hemisphere. The Creative Exchange will fund 1. Residencies for 2-5 weeks at one host site abroad in Latin America, the Caribbean or the United States; and 2. Travel abroad to meet with a potential host or artist in Latin America, the Caribbean or the United States to develop a future Creative Exchange residency or international cultural exchange project. *CREATIVE EXCHANGE RESIDENCIES* Increase access to international artists for NPN Partners and otherU.S.-based host sites, as well as to members of La Red and otherappropriate organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean, that have the facilities and infrastructure to host extended educational/creative/skill building residencies for up to two artists. Reinforce and deepen relationships already developed through PAP touring and peer exchange through curator travel. Artists, NPN Partners and La Red sites that have participated in PAP performance-focused residencies are eligible to apply for the Creative Exchange. You do not have to have been previously supported through PAP to apply. Provide individual artists with exchange opportunities not directly linked to the touring of finished work. Artists may develop new work in an environment of cultural exploration that is stimulating, challenging and productive for their art-making without having to produce a final performance. *CREATIVE EXCHANGE MOBILITY* Provides base support for artists and hosts who wish to explore face-to-face relationships with potential partners in order to design future exchange projects, i.e. Creative Exchanges, touring, or collaborations. This support funds travel only for a maximum of $1,000 per award, and is not intended as residency or touring support.
