NATURE PROGRAMS & HIKES JULY 13 & 14, 2013 SATURDAY 10:00 am CREEKFIELD LAKE NATURE HIKE -1/2 mile, paved trail, approximately 1.5 hours 11:30 am STORY TIME (IP) –The King of the Birds – Listen to this book about how the birds of the world came together to decide which one should be king. Choose your own king of the birds. 1:30 pm THE WONDERFUL LIVES OF SNAKES (IP) – Learn the facts about the animals most people love to hate! Live, non-venomous snakes. 3:30 pm ALLIGATORS IN THE WILD – Stop by the station located at the Elm Lake and Spillway Trails intersection. 4:00 – 4:30 pm DEMONSTRATION STATION – BIRD NESTS – Stop by the station any time during the half hour. Station is located in the Nature Center exhibit hall. SUNDAY 10:00 am CREEKFIELD LAKE NATURE HIKE -1/2 mile, paved trail, approximately 1.5 hours 1:30 pm STORY TIME (IP) – Stellaluna – Listen to this book about a lost fruit bat followed by show and tell with bat specimens. 3:30 pm MISSISSIPPI KITES – View a slide show about the natural history of these summer migrants that may be living above your head in your own neighborhood. All programs are free and will begin at the Nature Center unless otherwise noted. (IP) denotes indoor program with limited capacity of 50 PEOPLE. Programs start ON TIME. Late arrivals may not be permitted. All programs are posted one week in advance and are subject to change without notice.
