NBA schedule: Cavaliers, Clippers, Warriors all try to extend winning streaks : Source: SBNation – All Posts:– LeBron James and the Cavaliers travel to Brooklyn, where they’ll play in front of the royal family. Plus, a look at the rest of Monday night’s NBA schedule. It hasn’t always been pretty, but the Cleveland Cavaliers have now won six straight and find themselves four games over .500. They’ll go for their seventh in a row in Brooklyn, where a couple of special guests will on hand — Britain’s Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton. The couple is in the United States for a three-day trip and will be in attendance at the Barclay’s Center Monday night. There are other great basketball games to talk about, too. The Cavaliers aren’t the only team trying to extend an impressive winning streak, as the Warriors will be going for 13 in a row in Minnesota. Elsewhere, the Clippers will try to push their winning streak to eight at home against the Suns. Where should your attention be directed on Monday night? We’ve got it all sorted out below. The appetizer Nets vs. Cavaliers, 7:30 p.m. ET As mentioned above, the Cavaliers will be going for seven in a row. The Nets, on the other hand, have been playing like the 8-10 team that they are. The Cavaliers’ offense appears to be churning at full strength, but it’s been the defense that has propelled them during this current streak. Over the past six games Cleveland is holding opponents to 96 points per 100 possessions, a major improvement over the 103.6 number they’re allowing on the season. The Nets are far from a juggernaut, but, as their win last week over the Spurs showed, they can be a feisty team. That being said, LeBron has always enjoyed putting on a show and Monday night at the Barclays Center, with the royal family there, will certainly be one. TV: YES, Fox Sports Ohio More on this game: Nets Daily | Fear the Sword The main course Timberwolves vs. Warriors, 8 p.m. ET We’re running out of words to describe just how awesome the Warriors have been this season. They have the league’s fourth best offensive rating and the best defensive and net rating. They’ve won 12 games in a row, and have lost just two games in total, the last one coming nearly a month ago. Klay Thompson is validating the team’s decision to not send him to Minnesota in exchange for Kevin Love, and Draymond Green has emerged as one of the best role players in the NBA. They also still have Stephen Curry, one of the best players in the league. All of this is to say that you should be watching the Warriors Monday night. Yeah, it will probably be a blowout win in Minnesota, but it’s not everyday you get to watch a team go for 13 in a row or play at the level that Golden State currently is. These are also two of the fastest playing teams in the NBA (the Warriors are second in pace; the Timberwolves fifth). Take advantage of the opportunity to watch what should be a fun game. TV: Fox Sports North, CSN Bay Area More on this game: Cannis Hoops | Golden State of Mind The dessert Clippers vs. Suns, 10:30 p.m. ET Point guards galore! Chris Paul, Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe all on the same court. Bledsoe going against his former team in the Clippers, and mentor in Paul. Two of the top 10 offensive teams in the league. What more can a basketball fan ask for? The Clippers are trying to make it eight straight, but the majority of those wins have come against cellar-dwellers like the Jazz, Magic and Pistons. The Suns aren’t on the level of, say, the Grizzlies or Spurs, but they’re a tough team and one that will be competing for a playoff spot all year. A win over them would be an impressive way for the Clips to extend the streak.
