This car scored 94 points on the NCRS judging; lacquer paint would have added 3 more points, but the present base/clear paint has proven to be much more durable. Furthermore, this car also received a NCRS Second Flight award in 2008, as well as the Bloomington Gold in 2009, where it scored 97 points! Additionally, this car wears many features like power steering and brakes that are not usually found on the higher-horsepower big block cars, and also features RARE heavy duty brakes as well. Original assembled on June 7, 1966, this 1966 Corvette 427/425hp Convertible shows very good condition paint, with a brilliant, deep shine. Convertible top looks to be recent; chrome bumpers look to have a newer plating, and are in very good condition. Exterior door handles also show a newer chrome finish and in very good condition, and the taillights are recent and in excellent condition as well, as is the weatherstripping. This car wears a set of knockoff style wheels, which look to be slightly older and are in good to good to very good condition. Spinners look to be recent, and are in very good to excellent condition. BF Goodrich Momentum radial whitewall tires show nearly full tread depth remaining at an average of 10/32nds. The interior of this 1966 Corvette 427/425hp Convertible shows recent leather seat covers, door panels, and carpet. Gauges are in excellent condition with no fading and clear lenses. Steering wheel is in good condition, and the dash pods are in very good condition. Correct GM seatbelts are present, and in good condition. This car is equipped with SUPER RARE shoulder belts; just 37 66 Corvettes came with this option, and while we have no way to document this car as coming with them from the factory, they are very interesting nonetheless as they are rarely seen. The numbers matching engine in this car shows assembly date May 13, 1966. Correct ignition shielding and TI components are in place, along with correct hoses and hose clamps, and ignition wires. Correct Holley carburetor and GM aluminum intake are also in place, as well as the correct air cleaner, alternator, and rare power brake master cylinder. Frame is solid, clean, and rust-free. Reproduction window sticker is included. This car has been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating condition.
