NDIC seeks judges support for financial system stability - The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation has said it will continue to collaborate with the judiciary to ensure effective discharge of its mandate and contribute to the stability of the financial system. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, NDIC, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, made this known in a keynote address he delivered at a sensitization seminar for Federal High Court judges. A statement issued by the corporation on Sunday put the theme of the workshop as: The challenge to deposit insurance law and practice. Ibrahim, in the statement, observed with concern that a large segment of the Nigerian public had a wrong perception about the corporation and its statutory mandate. This, he stated, had made the NDIC to invest resources to reverse the trend through effective and continuous public awareness and close collaboration with key stakeholders.
