NECSL 16 Premier Division Trim Celtic A 1 Parkvilla 3 Villa started the game very well and dominated the ball for large periods. Conor Brennan was strong and set up Conor Lee for our first goal. It was a fine left footed finish. Eoghan ONeill then toe poked home on the six yard box after good work for Conor Brennan down the left hand side. (HT 0-2) Lack of concentration just immediately after the break resulted in a long ball over the top beating the intire visiting entire back four and Celtic reduced the defecit. It wasnt until 20 minutes after the interval when Paul Cunningham latched on to a through pass from Conor Ahern to put the visitors one up. Villa upped the pace for the remainder which saw Cunningham performed an audacious lob to put his side to two goals to nil. A handball incident in the remaining minutes should have yielded a spot kick but a direct free kick just outside the box was awarded. Cunningham again took responsibility but was inches away from his hat trick when his shot struck the upright. In the end a fine performance all round to leave the final tally 2-0 to the winners, with excellent contritutions from Josh Gaffney, Dominic Hegedus. A clean sheet for Owen Kavanagh.
