NEED ADVICE FROM MY FELLOW AM OWNERS: Ok I have a situation that I dont know how to address. My sweet, almost 2 year old AM, Bella, has been acting weird and completely not her normal self. She will whine/cry in a pitiful way for no apparent reason. Her spirits dont seem to be as high and Ive checked her all over and cannot find any source of pain. She found an old squeak toy in her toy basket yesterday and has been attached it to unlike anything ever before. She wont go downstairs or outside without that toy. She carries it everywhere. She licks on it and nuzzles it as if it were a baby. She stresses out if she cannot find it or if it gets caught up under her as she lays down. If she cant find it she gets upset. She has NEVER cared about that toy before nor behaved this way about any of her possessions. Last night she took it with her to bed and every time she repositioned herself, she made sure that her toy was within reach. She seems sad to me and I just cant imagine why. Is it possible for female dogs to long for having babies? I mean, I know they cant reason but it is possible they can have those hormonal shifts like some women do? Could this be an indicator of needing or wanting a playmate of her own kind? I dont know. May seem trivial to some but this is my baby and she isnt herself and I really felt something was wrong last night and sat with her and cried because she couldnt tell me and I couldnt fix it.... Am I alone here?????????
