NEIFAR - North East India Forum Against Racism- as the name indicates is a forum formed in the aftermath of a series of racial attacks to the people of NE Indians in the metro cities of India in the last few years which culminated to the brutal killing of Nido Tania and Richard Loitam and subsequent continuous assaults and rape cases in the capital of the country. The current members are composed of all the Eight State student leaders, social and human rights activists, professionals and scholars from all parts of India led by NE Indians. The groups key Goal is to Set India free from Racial discrimination Our Mission is to bring about a strong law against racial discrimination and ensure appropriate administrative systems to address the anti - racial IPC. Our values and principles are to upheld equality, equity, dignity and sensitivity towards the socially, economical and regional imbalance nation as inspired in the constitution of India. Key objectives include:- 1. To research, draft, frame and lobby with the constitutional authorities to enact a strong and effective law, enforceable in the court and administrative systems across the country that can protect, prevent, provide relief and bring justice to the victims of racial discrimination. 2. To create awareness to the masses through educational systems, sensitivity of media, cultural and ethnicity respects, socio - economic justices and integration of the nation as enshrined in the constitution of India. 3. To strengthen the existing NE Helpline and other agencies and groups to protect NE People and to provide relief and rehabilitations to the victims of racial attacks through the establishment of NE support centres in the Metro cities in particular and in all the federal states India. 4. To enhance and coordinate various efforts of different groups in India who works for NE Indian people and other agencies that provides assistance to the development of the region. 5. To bring about the sense of responsibilities, respect and dignity to diverse ethnic groups of India so as to ensure national unity and integrity. Join the Group.
