NEVER UNDERMINE THE INTEGRITY OF LAND OF HONOR This piece is thought provoking and a bitter truth. Yes, every citizen of Ekiti are proud to be associated with the motto LAND OF HONOR AND FOUNTAIN OF KNOWLEDGE But politics is about to undermine the integrity of the land, its honor and the knowledge of its people. It is pertinent to state here that everyone is completely entitled to his/her own opinion, therefore my attempt to awaken respected people of Ekiti state is not in any way to support a candidate or chant a candidate down. Rather, it is consciousness-awaken call for all of us who on daily basis condemn corruption in Nigeria to walk the talk. Lets marry what we condemn with what we do. On a daily basis we exposed and condemn corrupt leaders for mismanagement of public funds, thuggery, killing of innocent citizens, for creating an insecure society and other anti-people activities of remote and immediate past governments and political office tenants. Lets say no to the end! The land of Late Kunle Fajuyi, Prof. Akin Oyebode, Femi Falana, Niyi Osundare, Yinka Adebayo, Afe Babalola and other eminent citizens of Ekiti should be put to shame. Ekiti should not be a reference point for politically relegated politicians like Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Chief James Ibori, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, Dimeji Bamikole and so on for their corruption and other criminal charges. These people are watching us in Ekiti. They believe if it should happen with Ekiti come June, a state with the highest number of educated citizens of Nigeria then they will come out of their shame and together with supports of people who quickly forget wrong doings they shall rule Nigeria again. Here is their trick if we use Gods name to deceive them, they we accept us. we will tell them God has forgiven us our sins and promise to sin no more. Today, consciously or unconsciously, many are victims of their tricks. This is the more reason why you say, we support the personality of a candidate because hes a grassroots man and not his atrocities. We know man is not perfect, we sin against God and He forgives us. He has apologies for his mistakes and promise not to do them any more. Then, is it not sentimental for us to castigate other corrupt leaders who have apologized to us as well? By implication, we must support other past leaders who pleaded with us that they will not do so again. Unconsciously, my people, we are setting a bad precedent for other politicians who have gone into extinction. The choice is yours, your vote is your choice, your choice determine where you belong. Either you cherish the integrity of the state and your public integrity against corruption or not. Maybe your own belief is that regardless of atrocities any candidate has committed (you see no risk in it), the personality of a candidate is supreme above it (atrocities). I guess you must be a genius who know how to separate inactions from actions and personality from character. Ekiti shall continue to be better and stronger. I cherished the integrity of my state. I am honored to be a citizen of Nigeria from Ekiti state. Forever, I will uphold the integrity of land of honor. Once again, please, the choice is yours therefore vote for the candidate of your choice. But dont undermine the interest of the state and the integrity of its people. Thank you.
