***NEW JERSEY DEVILS GAME NIGHT POST!*** TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (20-10-3) at NEW JERSEY DEVILS (11-16-6) GAME #34 - TV: TVA, SUN, MSG Season series: The New Jersey Devils defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 on Oct. 14 at Amalie Arena. Travis Zajac and Mike Cammalleri scored for the Devils, who were backed by Cory Schneiders 26 saves. Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves for the Lightning. Since that game the Lightning have gone 18-9-2 while the Devils are 8-16-6. Lightning team scope: The Lightning havent played since Tuesday, when they snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves in his NHL debut. Tyler Johnson has been red-hot with four points in his past three games and 12 points in his past 11, but he sat out practice Thursday because of a stomach bug. His status for the game Friday is still not determined. Defenseman Radko Gudas and forward Ondrej Palat were optimistic Thursday that they would play in New Jersey. Palat has missed the past four games with a lower-body injury. Gudas has missed three straight games with an illness. Goalie Ben Bishop (upper-body injury) is skating, but its unlikely he will play Friday against New Jersey or Saturday against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. Devils team scope: New Jersey has lost five in a row (0-3-2) and is 3-9-4 with 30 goals in its past 16 games since a two-game winning streak (Nov. 11-14). The Devils have a League-low three wins and 10 points on home ice this season. They lost 2-0 to the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday despite holding a 34-16 advantage in shots on goal and a 58-25 advantage in total shot attempts. The Devils were 0-for-5 on the power play against Ottawa after scoring a power-play goal in three straight games and going 6-for-14 in their previous seven. Rookie defenseman Damon Severson will be out of the lineup for the next four-to-five weeks with a hairline fracture in his left ankle. Mike Cammalleri (lower body) and Dainius Zubrus (left leg lacerations) skated on their own Thursday and are day-to-day. Zubrus was placed on injured reserve Thursday, but its retroactive to Dec. 8 so he can play Friday if hes capable. Keith Kinkaid is starting tonight for the Devils. Cammalleri and Zubrus skated on their own again this morning. They remain day to day. Adam Larssons conditioning assignment to Albany will be just for tonights game vs. WB/Scranton. Coming back tomorrow. Devils lines in morning skate: Gomez-Henrique-Jagr; Elias-Zajac-Havlat Ruutu-Gionta-Ryder; Tootoo-Sestito-Bernier.
