NEW MOVIES THIS WEEKEND Guardians of the Galaxy and the James Brown Movie Get On Up 1. Guardians of the Galaxy (PG-13) Another Marvel superhero movie, but its based on a more recent comic youve never heard of. Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, and rassler David Bautista bond when they break out of an alien prison. A couple of them only do voices . . . Coopers a CGI raccoon and Vin Diesel is a walking plant whose only dialogue is I am Groot. The bad guys trying to destroy the universe are Lee Pace . . . the father of Legolas in the Hobbit movies . . . and Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond on Doctor Who. The rest of the cast includes John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Nathan Fillion, Benicio Del Toro, and Djimon Hounsou. And Stan Lee DOES have a cameo in this one. At first hed said he wouldnt because he didnt write this comic. 2. Get On Up (PG-13) Chadwick Boseman stars in this movie about the life of James Brown. Although all the music is done with Browns real voice. Nelsan Ellis from True Blood plays his best friend, and Dan Aykroyd is the agent they sign with. Mick Jagger helped produce it, and he says, Every record youve got in your collection, every download youve got, is influenced by James Brown. When I first saw [him], I copied his moves straight away. I couldnt DO them. I just did my versions. 3. And now, some limited releases you may or may not care about: Calvary . . . Brendan Gleeson from the Harry Potter movies is a priest threatened during confession when a member of his parish vows to kill him . . . as retribution for being molested by a different priest years earlier. Behaving Badly . . . Nat Wolff from Nickelodeons The Naked Brothers Band stars in a raunchy teen comedy as a high school kid trying to nail Selena Gomez. The cast also includes Heather Graham, Elizabeth Shue, Mary Louise Parker, Patrick Warburton, Jason Lee, and Gary Busey. Louder Than Words . . . David Duchovny and Hope Davis are inspired by the unexpected death of their daughter to convince their community into building a state-of-the-art childrens hospital.
