{NEW POST} A Day in the Life of a Former Fitness Hustler Many of you know my dieting history and previous struggle with nutrition and excessive exercise. But what you might not know is the story of my career and how JillFit came to be an exclusively online brand. This article is for you gals who are currently doing what I call, The Fitness Hustle -- admirable and valuable and changing lives daily, but you might feel, as I did years ago, that I was burning the candle at both ends. See, in 2007 I was working 70-80 hours a week as a full-time fitness pro in the gym -- teaching 12-15 fitness classes a week and personal training up to 12 clients a day, on top of a full-time gym management position. I was in the gym at 5am, home at 8pm or 9. I did this for a decade! I loved it because on many levels, it was how I derived my sense of self-worth (semi-martyrdom). And at times I also hated it. I was exhausted, head down grinding. Never having the time or more importantly, the mental space to look up, create a plan of where I wanted to go, get my feet under me, never mind have the time to write a blog online, are you insane?? And so, I hustled. Until I didnt want to anymore. And though it felt completely impossible to change my schedule, especially when I was operating from a scarcity mindset 100% of the time (chasing money and taking on whoever whenever), I started slowly making changes. IT TOOK ME FIVE YEARS from the moment I had my first aha moment about my ridiculous schedule to the moment I quit my full-time job. It doesnt happen overnight. But heres how I did it, slowly and strategically. #BestofYou2015 jillfit/2014/11/29/fitness-hustle/
