NEW PROJECT! Well, while I’m waiting to hear back from my next - TopicsExpress

NEW PROJECT! Well, while I’m waiting to hear back from my next hopeful employer, I’m picking up a new project for a Family member. In my world, Family is everything, and right now I have a brother-in-law who really needs a hand… LITERALLY. One year ago, Russ suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side. After a whole lot of physical therapy, and some intensive pain management, he finally regained the ability to stand and walk unassisted. He’ll never run again, but at least he’s walking. He’s made a lot of progress in a year, and has pushed through some really hard times like a champ. But after a whole year, his left arm still remains completely unusable. And that’s where this project comes in. BECAUSE he’s worked so hard, and made SOME progress, his health insurance thinks he’s just fine, and has denied him a device which would give him use of his left arm again. As it is right now, the stroke broke the connections between certain nerves and muscles, so the message his brain is sending doesn’t make it to his muscle leaving his arm hanging limp at his side. The Myopro is an incredible piece of technology that basically works off nerve impulses from his brain to move a brace around his arm to enable the movement his brain is intending. This device would completely change his life for the better. Try making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with one arm. Try putting on pants with one arm. Try doing all the regular everyday stuff you do with one arm. IT’S NOT EASY. Russ is a great guy. He had a whole life ahead of him that was completely interrupted by something that couldn’t be predicted, couldn’t be prevented and can’t be reversed. And it’s something that could happen to any one of us at any time. So, we’re gonna’ help a brother out! The plan is underway, so keep an eye out for updates as the campaign begins.
