*NEW* Riedel Decanter Boa 2013 is the year of the 40th anniversary of Sommeliers , the historic line created by Riedel . In such an important year, here are two new creations leading company for 250 years in the field of glass and crystal: new and original decanter Boa and Curly. In the best traditions, as in the Sommeliers series, also in this case are being blown decanter mouth and foster optimal ventilation of the wine, allowing it to unleash its full potential. BOA - Designed by Maximilian J. Riedel, Boa incorporates the sinuous lines of a snake, very dear to the company, as can be seen in the decanter Eve (2009) and Mamba (2011). Boa, though, which was introduced on the occasion of the Chinese year of the Snake, presents the coils more narrow and short, allowing a double decanting even faster. It is recommended to decant wines, both young and old. It is a sign of respect for old wines and a sign of confidence in young wines. Decanting old wines, just a few moments before they are served, helps to ensure that the wines clarity and brilliance are not obscured by any deposit that may have developed over time. Decanting young wines several hours before they are served gives the wine a chance to bloom and attain a stage of development that normally requires years of aging. Tradition and innovation - the Riedel company can proudly look back on its 250-year success story. From its beginnings in northern Bohemia down to this day, for 11 generations (for now) Riedel Glass has stood for the high art of glassmaking. In 1673, when Johann Christoph Riedel was born in the Bohemian town of Neuschloß, no one could have guessed that this was also the birth of one of the greatest glass enterprises in the world. This Bohemian glass merchant was the starting point for a direct line through several generations down to today´s corporate head Georg J. Riedel and his son Maximillian. Each Riedel in this long chain has been able to contribute his personal skills and views to expand the company´s success and make it what it is today.
