Almost 2,000 knitters have made this beautiful cardigan. The Hitofude Cardigan by Hiroko Fukatsu is anything but boring. It has a very unusual construction. As implied by the name Hitofude, meaning a single brush stroke in Japanese, this open front cardigan is worked in one yarn stroke - a continuous strand without cutting the yarn. It begins as a rectangle, morphs into a shrug, eventually growing into a gorgeous flared skirt maintaining a simple but intricate looking lace design. It seems to be pretty straightforward but the pattern manages to confuse a good number of knitters. Would you like to know how to cast it on in a much easier way? Do you want your sleeves longer? how do you block this beast? These and other questions will be answered. Are you intrigued enough? Then join our workshop! Some of the skills you will learn include Judys Magic Cast on, stretchy bind off, three-needle bind off, reading charts, lace knitting, adjusting pattern to customize the garments lengths.
