[NEWS] 141217 WINNER Chosen as ‘Best Rookie of 2014′ by a Panel of 28 Industry Experts Invited by Starnews (Year-End Survey) Industry experts unveiled WINNER as the Best Rookie of 2014. Starnews – The year-end survey was conducted with the participation of 28 music/sound producers, music program producers such as PDs, composers and critics to obtain a results for the ‘Best Newcomer’ question. The criteria of the survey included sales charts, music programs ranking and others, including an overall evaluation of groups or idols performance and dominance compared to the others. A representative of Happy Face Entertainment, Juwon Lee stated that they observed systematically the performances based on the singers’ album sales and ranking from different sources. The songwriter and producer, Sinsadong Tiger stated that YG’s system of training skilled amateurs were done correctly. Executive Vice President of Big Hit Entertainment stated that the “group debuted spectacularly than anybody else”. The group were introduced in last year’s survival program, WIN: Who is Next on Mnet, spearheaded by YG’s Yang Hyun Suk who revealed the group 8 years after BIGBANG, which garnered a lot of attention. Last August 12, their first regular album, ‘2014 S/S’ occupies the top spots in real-time music chart rankngs instantly after its release, with the title track, ‘Empty’. The album maintained and proved it signifact strength in the market.
