NEWS BITS – JANUARY 19, 2015 > Twenty-one (21) City Government workers who retired from service between June-December 2014 were feted in a ceremony dubbed “Despedida de agradecimiento para los retirados de govierno” spearheaded by Mayor Beng Climaco at the City Hall conference room, Monday morning. > The Local Health Board chaired by Mayor Beng Climaco in its maiden meeting recently resolved to review all health ordinances specifically Ord. 500 (sanitary law) and Ord. 413 (Smoking law) and to initiate the conduct of a regular fitness program for LGU employees as part of the city’s health priorities. > Heart disease, CVA/CVD (cerebrovascular accident/cerebrovascular disease), pneumonia and cancer of all types are the leading causes of death in the city in 2014, per record from the City Health Office. > The ZCPO arrested 6 of the most wanted persons (MWP) in the city from Dec. 29, 2014 to Jan. 18, 2015. A total of 25 operations were made resulting in the capture of 25 individuals including the 6 MWPs. 44 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted resulting in the arrest of 62 individuals, seizure of 196 sachets of shabu, 1 sachet marijuana, marked money and drug paraphernalia. > Deadline for renewal of business permits and payment of business taxes is TUESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2015. The Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) in City Hall will be open from 8am to 8pm.
