NEWS FLASH! S.T.O.P. now has a NEW Headquarters just a few hundred feet west from the beach. Our New address is 3104 NE 9th St., Suite A, Ft. Lauderdale Beach, FL. 33304. This is a milestone for sea turtle conservation in Broward County and the State of Florida. We also feel that this HQ is a cornerstone in the foundation for even larger plans in the future growth of Sea Turtle Oversight Protection. The New S.T.O.P. HQ is a tribute to everyone who has worked with this organization over the past eight years to help protect our beloved sea turtles. The dedication and hard work of hundreds upon hundreds of volunteer staff over the years have helped create a “Sea Turtle Oversight Protection Systems” that has rescued well over 120,000 turtles and counting. We continue to enjoy the wonderful opportunity to share time with hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors from around the world who are open to the important conservation education we provide them on behalf of the sea turtles. It is also a tribute to the accomplishments of property owners, Municipalities, Broward County and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation personnel for doing their part to help reduce and manage artificial light visible to the nesting habitat, that deters nesting females and disorients the hatchlings. Our HQ’s primary use will be as a marine turtle and coastal ecology education center for our residents and visitors. By popular demand, we will be expanding our Sea Turtle Rescue Youth Volunteer Program to encompass the entire coastal ecology and provide access to more kids who care about conservation . To kick off our Grand Opening Extravaganza and End-of-Season Staff Party - we are hosting a Sea turtle Friendly event and a meet and greet gathering for our supporters, our members, volunteer staff, past and present, and our youth volunteers. At this event we will be having a LIVE auction of over 100 donated items for some pre holiday gift opportunities that are tax deductible contributions, as well as our showcase canvas mural featured in the post below - titled “Sea Tomorrow” which was painted by our 2014 Sea Turtle Rescue Youth Camp members during their week long sea turtle conservation immersion course. Please join us and help us close out our 2014 Sea Turtle season with this worthy event celebrating eight years of dedication, love and hard work on behalf of our beloved sea turtles and the EARTH!
