NEWS: Here is a release from the Medicine Hat Police Service regarding the Santa Clause Toy Run taking place today. On September 13, 2014 at approximately 11:30 am, the Medicine Hat Motorcycle Enthusiasts will be leaving Irvine Alberta and travel to Medicine Hat on Highway #1 in support of the Santa Claus Toy Run. Not only will this affect traffic on Highway #1 west bound but it will affect traffic within the city of Medicine Hat as the parade travels through the city and ends at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Grounds. Once the parade reaches Medicine Hat City limits the following route will be utilized by the riders: - The parade route is from Irvine Alberta west bound on Highway #1 to Medicine Hat east city limits. - Turning right onto Dunmore Road SE and precede north bound along Dunmore Road SE to Kingsway Avenue SE. Continue northbound on Kingsway Avenue SE to the intersection with South Railway Street SE. - Turning right onto South Railway Street SE and precede east bound up Sholten Hill and continue on to Carry Drive SE to the intersection with Southview Drive SE. - Turning right onto Southview Drive SE and precede southwest bound to 24th Street SE. - Turning right onto 24th Street SE to 21st Avenue SE. - Turning right onto 21st Avenue SE to the entrance to the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Grounds which is the final destination Please plan an alternate direction of travel due to the tie up of intersections to allow all the participants to get through, MHPS are asking the driving public to be patient and follow all police officer and flag persons directions.
