NEWS ! Kazan Antonov AN-26 runway excursion, collapsed right main gear ! A Kazan Aircraft Production Association Antonov AN-26B, registration RA-26082 performing a freight flight from Magadan to Mirny (Russia) with 5 crew, was accelerating for takeoff from Magadans runway 10 at 11:35L (01:35Z) when the aircraft suffered an engine failure, veered right off the runway and came to a stop on deeply snow covered soft ground with the right main gear collapsed. No injuries occurred, the aircraft received substantial damage including a fractured wing, engine and propeller damage. Russias Ministry for Emergency Situations (MCHS) reported the aircraft was carrying cargo from Magadan to Mirny when the aircraft went off the runway. There were no injuries, no fuel spill and no fire.
