NEWS:"Now, enjoy mud bath in Khadi showroom" Visitors to the Khadi Board showroom in Kuralagam can now avail of traditional therapies like mud bath and spine bath. A naturopathy centre has been set up in the showroom by the Khadi and Village Industries Board at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh. The centre will be run by the Board and employ a doctor and two therapists — a male and a female — from the Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College in Arumbakkam. Each therapy will last around 15 to 30 minutes. The clients will also be provided diet charts and taught yoga to maintain their health. The therapy will help those with problems such as obesity, diabetes, back and knee pain, said J.K. Ezra, who is in charge of the centre. “Khadi Board aims to bring to people simple products from the villages. The centre will provide employment to five persons, including maintenance staff, and will be a source of revenue for the Board,” said U. Sagayam, chief executive officer of the Board.
