NEWS UPDATE AT 9 AM WITH ORANGE Over 1,000 Kyambogo students that missed the February graduation ceremony will graduate in a special ceremony slated for the 6th of June. The acting Vice Chancellor Prof Elly Katunguka says 358 students have so far been confirmed. However, Katunguka has revealed that the university has already put in place measures to avoid a similar scenario in the future. As Uganda races up to 2016 presidential elections, a new poll has shown that the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is in the lead to take up the presidential seat if incumbent Yoweri Museveni and his political challenger,Dr Kizza Besigye do not contest in 2016. Kadaga is closely followed by First Lady and Karamoja Affairs Minister Janet Museveni. According to the poll results conducted by Uganda Governance Monitoring Platform, 13 per cent of the respondents indicated support for Ms Kadaga while 9 per cent backed Ms Museveni. Buganda kingdom cabinet ministers are meeting today to discuss Kingdom matters. The Lukiko meeting is taking place at the kingdom headquarters at Bulange Mengo.
