NEWS UPDATES AT 12 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE. Tight security measures have been implemented at Parliament. All those accessing parliament on foot are to strictly use the entrance opposite National theatre. Parliament staffs in their different offices have also been shifted within the August house, as it is believed to be a possible terrorist target. This follows credible terror threats on the country that have seen heavy deployment of the army, police and counter terror units in key installations in Kampala and Entebbe. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says that the force will maintain the high deployment until the situation normalizes. Meanwhile, at Entebbe International airport no stone has been left unturned as police and the military are well positioned across the airport to avert any possible terror attack. Passengers and vehicles accessing and exiting the airport have to go through tight security checks hence the long queues. Ministry of Relief and Disaster preparedness is in the process of repatriating over 1000 Congolese refugees. Commissioner for Refugees in the ministry David Kazungu says that they have registered more than 2000 Congolese refugees from Nakivaale refugee camp who want to return to their country.
