NEWS: Unilorin student wins 2013 UNESCO contest A 200 Level Computer Science student of the University of Ilorin, John Paul Usman, has won the Grand Prize at the 2013 Pathways to a Culture of Peace Competition organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on December 3, 2013. Usmans winning entry was a graphic design titled “The Nigeria of my Dream”. The contest, jointly organised by UNESCO, the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz National Centre for Dialogue (KANCD), brought together youth from over 30 countries, engaging them in development processes to invent, articulate, and reformulate the lingua franca of globalisation, through which their demands for inclusiveness, empowerment, prosperity and sustainability could be met.
