NEws (jatinder) The Internationalist Democratic Party held a meeting in which the killing of four civilian and injuring more than 42 persons in the ruthless firing by the personal of BSF and JK Police was discussed. The unprovoked firing on the peaceful demonstrators outside the BSF camp, at Dharham Sharti village, in Sangaldham area of Gool Tehsil of Ramban District against the sacrilegious act and roughing up a local Imam of Mosque (religious Preacher) in the intervening night of 17th and 18th July, 2013 was not desirous as an excessive force was used on the demonstrators. The participants of the meeting strongly condemn the role of security forces as in the state of Jammu and Kashmir instead of protecting the life and property of people; Forces are committing heinous crimes throughout the state with impunity as they are under a notion that AFSPA provides them protection and no action can be taken against them, so anger and frustration is unleashed against a person or a group considered as enemy by them. It seems that some bad elements are recruited in the armed forces and Police who generally act in a partisan manner and whenever there is an agitation, a brutal force is used against the civilian in which great loss of human life is reported always. The IDP is of the view that during the month of Ramzan a more restrain and tolerance should have been shown by the BSF as during Ramzan people move during late hours and pray almost all night, so the BSF should have been taught to respect the religious sentiments and practices of the Muslims in the area and not try to impose restrictions or impose curtailment. The IDP demands that a probe in the incident should be conducted at an earliest and the person responsible for unprovoked firing and killing and injuring the peaceful civilians, be taken to task to show the credibility of governance. The role of Deputy Commissioner and other authorities is under cloud and needs a probe. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Master Mohan Lal State Vice President IDP and the prominent among others were Paras Ram Poonchi, J.A.Kazmi Sr.Advocate, Professor Girdhari Lal, Dr. Narendar Khajuria, Sh. Dharam Pal Sharma.
