NG/RC, The following is a brief synopsis of a Patriot Award presented to the Department of Veteran Affairs. Mario Campa from the Department of Veteran Affairs, 500 Gold Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM was presented with a Patriot Award by the New Mexico Committee for Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) on December 23, 2014. This award was given to him for contributing to National Security and Protecting Liberty and Freedom by Supporting Employee Participation in Americas National Guard and Reserve Forces. His employee SSG Carlos Velasquez is a member of the New Mexico Army National Guard, HHC 111th MEB and submitted Mario for this Award. My supervisor has been really supportive of my time away for my Guard duty, and is always professional and gives me all the tools I need to succeed. Mario also signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve pledging his support to our Military Forces. This Statement of Support recognizes the values, leadership and unique skills Service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to employ our Guardsmen and Reservists. In the highest American tradition, the Patriotic men and women of the Guard and Reserve serve voluntarily in an honorable and vital profession.
