NGF Charges Ngilari To Run Open Administration: NGF Charges Ngilari To Run Open Administration AGENCY REPORTS — Oct 10, 2014 | Leave a comment The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Friday in Abuja charged Gov. Bala Ngilari of Adamawa to run an open and all-inclusive administration in the state. Mr Asishana Okauru, the Director-General of the forum, under the leadership of Gov. Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers, gave the charge in a statement. He also urged the new governor to ensure the delivery of true democracy dividends to the people of the state. He, however, described as a land-mark judgment, the court judgment which saw to the swearing in of Ngilari as Adamawa governor. He added that the judgment was also a plus for the judiciary and Nigeria’s democracy and congratulated Gov. Ngilari on his judicial victory. He, however, urged the judiciary to remain steadfast, bold and independent in anticipation of several other electoral cases as the country moved closer to the 2015 general elections. Asishana praised Ngilari for standing firm and remaining undaunted while the case lasted, and called on political leaders to always explore court processes in resolving political disagreements. He further called on political stakeholders nationwide to be mindful of potential pitfalls caused by over-zealousness, adding that this would impact negatively on the country`s thriving democracy. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ahmed Fintiri, the former Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, assumed leadership of the state when former Gov. Murtala Nyako was impeached on grounds of financial irregularities. His deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, however, went to court, seeking an order to be sworn in as substantive governor of the state. Fintiri had been sworn in as governor in July on the ground that the deputy governor resigned from the office during the impeachment process of ex-Gov. Nyako. But the Federal High Court in Abuja, in its verdict, ordered Fintiri’s removal as acting governor and that the former Deputy Governor, Ngilari, be sworn in as governor.
