NGPS/NGES PTO Meeting Minutes November 13, 2014 Meeting commenced: 6 pm Present: Board Members: Anne-Marie Eberhardt – principal P.J. Gilbert – President Ashleigh Norris – Vice President Jeanne VanDyke- Secretary Kelly Shifflett – NGPS teacher rep Sherri Hickin- NGES teacher rep 15 parents and teachers Items Discussed: PTO Goals – what do we as a PTO want to accomplish? 1. Fieldtrips – help with funding 2. Events for kids 3. Making parents aware of different activities outside of school – possible ways to get the word out by posting events that are in Albemarle Magazine. 4. Support after school activities such as SOL prep – tabled for next meeting. Possible committees: 1. Grants 2. Publicity 3. Fundraiser 4. Beautification of schools 5. Teacher/Transportation Appreciation Week 6. Box Tops – Primary only 7. Parent/Teacher Conferences 8. Fieldtrips 9. Special Events 10. Holiday Shoppe Upcoming Events December 3rd : 5- 8 pm – Basket Making for Holiday Shoppe December 5th : 6-8 pm Holiday Shoppe at NGES December 10th: 4-8 pm McDonald’s Night in Ruckersville December 11th: 6-7 pm at NGPS PTO will have a new e-mail address – will be provided once it is set up. Holiday Shoppe: Being held at NGES A flyer with information about the shoppe and baskets will be going this coming week. We are in need of volunteers to put together baskets and with the holiday shoppe. If you are able to help in anyway please contact a board member or e-mail the pto. Price to get into the Holiday Shoppe is $2/child + a can of food There will be vendor as well Food available to purchase: pizza, cookies, chips, drinks. Pizza can be pre-ordered Pre-Sale Raffle tickets for baskets to go home closer to holiday shoppe date. Do we do two different colors? Meeting adjourned at 7 pm
