On the planet Earth, we seem to be out of touch with that fact and are often distracted by time and space. Thus humankind seems to focus much on illusive things as if there are restrictions and limitations on the simple fact that we are always conscious of our existence....Sometimes a simple reminder will help us to keep our attention on the fact that we are only actually living in the NOW. (Excerpt below *) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I continued The NOWMAN RADIO SHOW podcast with a program featuring a talk by former Temple University Urban Studies Professor and Author Paul Glover, who created the community currency, Ithaca Dollars in 1991. Since that time, hundreds of local businesses in Ithaca, New York helped circulate millions of those dollars and for a time it doubled the minimum wage in that community. Thats a remarkable achievement and the kind of story that media should be reporting. youtube/watch?v=xdfbJRH5R5E Speaking of media, as I have mentioned before, I co-created an online media network called The Syndicate with some partners in Venice, California as a resource to get this kind of interesting, useful and innovative information out.... and of course we should have fun doing that. Some of you know that I had been a Media Ambassador for a program called Adopt-A-Minefield which included working as an Internet reporter in a Hollywood press corps and writing an article for their international newsletter. Recently I was asked to join the Community Advisory Board of a L.A. radio station. We discussed how everyone loved Jonathan Frid who played the vampire Barnabas Collins, including Johnny Depp who played the character in the recent film version and the two stood face to face on the set. She said that Johnny Depp basically passed the torch (the characters legacy) back to Mr. Frid. The surviving cast members went to the film premiere in London and had a great time. We also discussed how the (Robert Cobert composed) music in the soundtrack played a very big part also in the shows ongoing popularity.
