NLS at Shetland Book Festival Wordplay, Shetland’s 12th annual book festival takes place from 29 Aug – 8 Sep 2013. The National Library of Scotland will be supporting two events based upon the work of writer Tom Pow and the Shetland based artist, Diane Garrick. Earlier this year, Tom and Diane spent three months at NLS as writer and artist in residence and their events are inspired by their time working with the Library’s map collections, especially the Bartholomew Archive. Tom’s poetry reading, ‘Elsewheres – the poetry of the map’ takes place on Sat 31 Aug, 12.00-13.00 and Diane’s workshop is on Sun 1 Sep, 10.00-16.00.
