NO FELLOWSHIP Superstitions are still with us. On Mackinac - TopicsExpress

NO FELLOWSHIP Superstitions are still with us. On Mackinac Island is the famous Crack-in-the-Island which, according to Indian legend, descends to the depths of the spirits of the dead. The crack is said to be haunted by a giant demon that tried to descend to the depths but was repulsed. Now he clings desperately to the edge of the fissure, and if you step on his fingers, calamities like sickness, loss of wealth, and misfortune in love might befall you. The legend is not taken seriously, but many today do believe in superstition and the black arts. There seems to be an alarming rise in witchcraft. And there is a subtle campaign to improve the image of witchcraft. Practitioners say that it is really a religion, and that they use only white magic. Often, they attempt to blend elements of Christianity with their incantations. The problem is not new. It plagued the Ephesian church. Ephesus was famous for the magical arts. Pauls converts there burned about ten thousand dollars worth of magic books. Later, Paul wrote to encourage them to keep separated from those involved in these magical arts. In our day we, too, must draw the line very clearly. Gods Word tells us to have no fellowship with those involved in these works of darkness. Superstitions flee in the face of faith
