The well established company in Tanzania, Nordic Computers Limited, has launched a desktop computers assembly plant in Dar es Salaam with the initial capacity of assemble about 1,200 computer pieces in a month. This development will redefine the standards for dealing and accessing computers in the country. “We found that there was a gap in the Tanzanian market for this kind of product. We offer same products but of better quality standards as the competing international desktop brands you see in Tanzania but our warranty service and product availability are our key advantages,” Nordic Marketing manager, Clement Mugabo said. He said that the factory situated at Mikocheni in Kinondoni District will have day-to-day production which will eliminate the lead time issues that many customers currently face in Tanzania when importing desktop computers. According to Mr. Mugabo, the plant will be assembling 30 to 50 pieces of computers a day, depending on orders from customers.
