NPS Job: Cartographic Tech You will be responsible for working directly with the SODN data manager on a variety of GIS geodatabase projects. You will coordinate with network staff to design, implement and manage spatial database systems and front-end application for the long-term maintenance, analysis and dissemination of natural resource data sets produced by past and forthcoming inventory and monitoring efforts. You will use database software to design and program databases for storing results of biological inventory and monitoring projects. You will work closely with park and refuge resource managers, scientists, GIS specialists and cooperating personnel to evaluate legacy data, assure that relevant and useful data are acquired and integrated in the databases and that such data complement existing park data systems, if practical. You will assure that metadata for these data sets are complete, current and in compliance with FGCD standards.
