NSCDC rescues abandoned new-born baby in Ilorin As Nigerians continue to mourn the death of innocent victims of bomb attacks in different parts of the country as well as staging solidarity rallies in honour of the over 200 abducted Government Girls Secondary School girls in Chibok, Borno State, an unknown woman has dumped a new born baby in a pit in Ilorin. The incident, which occurred along Adelodun Street in GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigerian Pilot exclusively gathered the ugly act took place on Thursday night when a passer-by who discovered the baby-girl under the drainage approached the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, headquarters to report the case. Checks revealed that the baby’s left hand is deformed following several attempts to get rid of the pregnancy which later had effect on the formation of the fetus. Meanwhile, in an interview with our correspondent, the spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Alhaji Olarewaju Kadir disclosed that the command was able to rescue the baby following tip of intelligence. He added that although the whereabouts of the parents, especially mother of the baby, is unknown, stressing that the command had since contacted the Ministry of Social Welfare in the state and handed over the baby to them for appropriate care.
