Set your DVRs for Discovery this Thursday, November 6, at 11 Eastern/8 Pacific for The Science of Interstellar, a behind-the-scenes documentary, narrated by Matthew McConaughey, detailing the epic voyage to deep space depicted in the upcoming movie Interstellar. The movie, a collaboration between director Christopher Nolan and Caltech theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, debuts this week in theaters around the world. Its already getting attention from mainstream press for grounding both its plot and its on-screen visuals on sound science and astrophysical theory. Near the end of the 1-hour documentary, the filmmakers train their lenses squarely on the NSS education programs held last May at the 2014 International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles. Youll see and hear from some of the hundreds of students from all over the world invited to the ISDC after placing highly in our annual NSS/NASA Space Settlement Design Competition.
