NSW Rural Fire Service has asked residents to remain safe as they contend with three fires within the Tenterfield shire. The fires are at Captains Creek, south-west of Urbenville, Cullendore Creek Rd and a 1750 hectare blaze is being controlled at Hurley’s Trail at Legume. Fire crews worked through the night to control fires at Ballandean, while Girraween National Park was closed yesterday so firies could safely contain large bush fires sweeping through the park.
