NVCC’S DELEGATION MET SHRI GRISHJI BAPAT, MINISTER FOR FOOD, CIVIL SUPPLIES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION, GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASHTRA. A delegation of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce led by Shri Mayur Panchmatiya, President met Shri Grishji Bapat, Hon’ble Minister for Food, Civil supplies and consumer protection, Government of Maharashtra at Ravi Bhavan on 9th Dec. 2014. Shri Mayur Panchmatiya, President gave floral welcome to Shri Grishji Bapat, Hon’ble Minister and appraised him that several members of the Chamber who are using Weights & Measures for their day-to-day business are experiencing hardships due to new orders of Controller of Weights & Measure Department, dated 22.10.2014. It has been noted from the orders that the dealers/traders have to do verification of weights & Measures directly through Weights & Measures Department and not through Parwanadharak. For this purpose they have to close their business and go for verification to Weights & Measures Department. Shri Mayur Panchmatiya, President suggested that the dealers/traders should be allowed option for verification through Parwanadharak OR directly through Weights & Measures Department. This should be voluntary & very convenient to them. He further stated that the suggestion of NVCC should be considered favourably and necessary instructions be issued to concerned authorities for verification of weights and measures to ease the problem. Shri Grishji Bapat, Hon’ble Minister patiently hearted the problems & suggestions made by Shri Panchmatiya and assured that he will take up the matter with the Controller of Weights & Measures and direct him to consider the suggestions of the Chamber. On the occasion, Hon’ble Minister was requested by Shri Manubhai Soni, Hon. Secretary to spare his valuable time and have on interactive meet with the members of the Chamber and communicate the convenient date & time during his presence in the winter session of assembly at Nagpur. Shri Bapatji, Minister assured that he will try to have an interactive meet at NVCC, on availability of date & time of at Nagpur.
