NWS HGX expects approaching high clouds to keep Thursday morning lows in the immediate Houston area from falling below the upper 20sF ( -2 or -3º Canadian). However, their AFD notes if high clouds move in slower, temps could be 5ºF colder than forecast. Lemon Moran provided several tasty fruits squeezed into beers and margaritas. It is a shrub, and didnt make enough fruit for any kind of pie or pitcher of beverage. 8 or 10 fruit total. How people in the neighborhood have full grown orange and grapefruit trees in their yards (pointed out a full grown grapefruit tree with fruit yesterday to Elvira Flores Moran) in a climate that borders between the mid-latitudes and sub-tropics, and has frosts almost yearly, and fairly regular freezes, I dont know. Joshua Moran Junior has thorns, and is 15 or so feet tall. (Almost 5 meters Canadian) He is on his own in this one. He isnt very fruity, but he he is growing quite nicely. Now, Tio Jose has grapefruit trees, but lives between downtown and Hobby Airport, and has full benefit of the urban heat island effect. But our citrus is in real danger if Thursday is colder than currently forecast.
