NY1075299 Receptionist for Auburn Nursing Home. Part-time position. Essential Job functions (with or without reasonable accommodations): answer & direct all incoming telephone calls and assist with resident phone calls; clerical skills such as typing, filing, faxing collating, etc.; receive payments & issue receipts; assist with various office duties as assigned by Financial Services Director; distribution of paychecks/direct deposit stubs, sell meal tickets, and transport residents as instructed; provide support to RN Supervisor as needed; assist with calls for relief staff; direct visitors to appropriate destination & maintain sign in book; present positive attitude toward residents, visitors & employees; comply with HIPPA regulations maintaining resident confidentiality at all times; treat residents with kindness, dignity & respect; and know and comply with Residents Rights and promptly report all resident complaints, accidents & incidents to supervisor. Attend & participate in orientation, educational activities, staff meetings & required in-service trainings. Qualifications: show ability to speak and understand English; High School diploma or equivalent; be at least 18 years of age; show ability to type and to work with various office equipment; ability to file & perform basic accounting functions; positive telephone skills; positive attitude toward residents, visitors & employees; show ability to read, write & follow oral & written directions; and have a positive attitude toward the elderly. Other requirements: walking, reaching, bending, lifting, fine hand coordination, ability to read and write in English, ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel and support agencies, ability to remain calm under stress and ability to distinguish smells. Hours are 4:30 to 8:00pm weekdays and 10:30am to 7:00pm every other weekend. Pay is $7.50/hour, negotiable. Located on a public transportation route. References checked.
