NZ White Sox on the Road Two more practice games were played at the beautiful softball park complex owned by the Jourdes Club of Prague. The first game was won by the White Sox 2-1 against a strong Jourdes Team. Runs came in the 2nd innings with Jennifer Feret and Kyla Bromhead hitting safely for Beth Stavert to drive both base runners into score. Jourdes scored a run in the bottom of the 6th innings but were shut out by fine defence from the White Sox. Megan Farrell, Michal Tangaroa and Courtney Gettins shared time on the mound. The 2nd game against the Czech Republic Team was lost 3-0. The Czech runs came early in the game. Whilst the White Sox had runners on base they were unable to capitalise on this. Danica Ferriso hit two from three with Katrina Nukunuku chiming in with a right field triple. Defensively the White sox were excellent in the field against strong Czech hitting. Jennifer Feret, Tyneesha Houkamau and Courtney Gettins shared time on the mound. The White Sox had a free day yesterday to sight see around the beautiful sights of Prague. Today the Prague Invitational Series starts with Russian, Austria, Czech Republic and the New Zealand White Sox playing for the title of this inaugural series.
