Nafs makes you do evil and tells you that you are innocent . It makes you sin and then proves to you its not a big thing and you are again innocent . Be a master not the slave of your desires. Do not let your nafs and wild desires become your master but instead judge whether the desire you face is according to Islam halaal and then stand for its fulfilment . ie . if you desire to earn your living and lead a life of dignity by doing simple honest business , this your desire brings you closer to Allah as earning clean living is also ibadah ie prayer so if you work to fulfil this your desire so that the food you eat comes through halaal means then this desire is a blessed desire that brings you close to Allah and gets your prayers heard in your salaah . Work to fulfil those desires that Allah loves to be in you and stay away from fulfilling those desires that offend Allah and He does not wish them to be in you. This way you can be a master of your desires and channelize them to make you a good muslim. Remember , over the fertile soil of nafs , the flowers of taqva bloom and it is therefore nafs that makes humans superior to angels . Taqva makes you a master of your nafs to bring you the closest to Allah ie to obtain His closeness/ marifat taqva plays a very important part in your life................. nahang o sher o nar o axdaha mara to kya mara Baray mozii ko mara nafs e ammara ko gar mara Allah hamesha hum ko iski taufeeq day.
