Natalie recently attended a birthday party for a friend at a local gymnastics studio. Generally, I dont think too much about Natalie being delayed or different than her friends, but in an environment like this, it was all too clear. A couple times I had moments of sadness for her, but then I would stop and see how much fun she was having just being HER using the abilities she possesses and realized those things dont matter TO HER. Sure, she couldnt do the activities the gym provided in the ways they intended, but she had a great time crawling on the obstacles and rolling around on the mats. This girlie has lots to teach me, if only I would open my heart to learning.
