National Confab: Fighting marginalization, building - TopicsExpress

National Confab: Fighting marginalization, building political/family dynasty, or submitting to Hausa-Fulani hegemony? Let take this into consideration: 1. A Fulani, by the name of Ike Umar Sandar-Nwachukwu, is representing the South East delegates for the conference. He fought against the Biafrans in the brutal Nigerian Civil War and vowed to do it again if need be in the name of ‘One Nigeria’. He was also imposed by Muhammadu Buhari, a fellow Fulani, as the military governor of the Old Imo State. He had all development projects put in place by late sage Sam Mbakwe stopped and diminished. Is the imposition of a Fulani on a people of another race during a National Conference fighting oppression? 2. The Emir of Ilorin, a Fulani by the name of Sulu Gambari, was included in the Traditional Rulers list. His is the highest figure of authority to represent Kwara State. To add to that, out of the 3 state government slots given to Kwara State, a state which is 80% Yoruba, 2 of those slots were given to Fulanis. Fulani domination of Kwara representatives not done to pacify the Hausa-Fulani Hegemonists and at the same time kill Yoruba self-determination? 3. The Ogoni people, a people most vehement about self-determination and most organized about it. They have basically mapped out a country for themselves with proper and realistic structure. They are the people of a well-known Nigerian figure Ken Saro Wiwa. Please I want anybody to try and explain to me how a people like the Ogoni can be forgotten for the list if not done deliberately? Let’s take into consideration that Magnus Abe, a supporter of Chibuike Amaechi and candidate for Rivers Governorship seat, is Ogoni. Let us also take into consideration that the Ogoni people refuse to take sides in the battle between the presidency and Rivers state. And also lets keep in mind that Ogoni refused an attempt by the president to award oil-spill clean-up contract to Bayelsans to come into Ogoniland “clean-up oil”. Is this fighting marginalization? 4.The Itsekiri, an ethnic group known to be arch enemy to the Ijaw were initially not added to the list of delegates. Even after the Governor of Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, a Itsekiri, himself sent Chief Isaac Jemides name in as a state delegate. We are aware of the attempts to have itsekiri wiped out of key areas in Warri and ultimately become ruled by the Ijaw populace. It is an ethnic tug of war between Itsekiri/Ijaw political elite and not by the Itsekiri/Ijaw people. For the fact the an Itsekiri is the governor of Delta State and elections are fast approaching if the president failed to and Chief Jemide’s name to the delegates list after protest by the Itsekiri and a call from the governor Uduaghan would have just delivered Delta State to APC in 2015. The president knows this therefore Chief Isaac Jemide was added to the list. Is that fighting marginalization? 5.Gary Enwo-Igariwey, the President-General of Ohanaeze and sympathizer of the presidency, and his sister Nnenna Oti( maiden name Nnenna Enwo-Igariwey) are among the 15 non-state delegates representing the South East. Is building elites families and creating dynasties fighting oppression? Likewise, Yinka Odumakin, the Public Secretary of Afenifere and supporter of a Jonathan 2015 presidency, was given a slot out of the 15 non-state South West delegate along with his wife. Fighting marginalization?
